OUR DANCERS
Brentwood Townend
Brentwood J. Townend is an artist in every sense of the word – as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, writer, and filmmaker, Brentwood cherishes every opportunity to express his innovative voice through performance, pedagogy, and choreography.
Brentwood started dancing as soon as he could walk, first learning the art of ballet from his mother before maturing his technique through many years of training with prolific New York City ballet masters.
Currently, he holds a BFA in Dance Performance with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida (USF). In addition to an impressive decade-long performance repertoire that includes lead roles in several classical ballets and numerous contemporary works, he has also choreographed dance works that have been presented at USF and at multiple venues in Paris, France.
Brentwood is honored to be a company member of Tampa City Ballet since its founding. In addition to performing, he teaches ballet and tap at a local dance studio and has guest taught for Brandon Ballet and USF.
Brentwood would like to thank Jesus for His life-giving love and for instilling such a gifting and passion for dance in his life, as well as his wife and forever dance partner, Hannah, and their son, Zephaniah, for their precious support.
