Arts Education - “On Your Feet”

On Your Feet, our main educational outreach program began as a residency project created by Artistic Director Paula Nunez. The project introduced children to the joy of dance.

Realizing the incredible impact this program could have on youth within our community, Tampa City Ballet (TCB) began a collaboration with University Area Community Development Corporation (UACDC) to provide On Your Feet as an offering within their Dream Catchers Summer Camp.

The partnership between TCB and UACDC has proved fruitful and is now moving into its sixth year and has expanded to serve three separate locations.

Tampa City Ballet believes dance is a social rite for all people, regardless of age, race, ability or economic station.

Unique to this program is that it is lead by master instructors with years of experience, both teaching and performing.

Students from this program have subsequently been offered scholarships to receive professional dance education and performance opportunities.

In 2017, Tampa City Ballet also began offering On Your Feet to children at local area schools. To learn more about this program, please email us at info@tampacityballet.org

In-Studio Classes

Tampa City Ballet strives to provide training for promising dancers by facilitating full or partial scholarships.

Most students access scholarships through our On Your Feet program. TCB provides qualifying students with opportunities to train with professional dance masters.

The success of this program has been outstanding, and dancers from our scholarship program have moved on to receive full-ride college scholarships.

In- School Programs

On Your Feet residencies energize students learning through dance, developing creative expression, abstract thinking, problem solving and social skills. From one day workshops to year long residencies.

After-School Program

Students explore the creative process by learning different techniques of dance and choreographing an original student performance.

Community Performances

Each year, Tampa City Ballet presents two full-length classical productions and two contemporary-modern performances.

Affordable matinees provide an opportunity for students, seniors and community programs to enjoy the magic of dance. Performances conclude with a Q & A session between the dancers and the audiences.

Tampa City Ballet also provide outdoor performances and lectures at public and private schools, festivals and community events. From the streets to the nearest community center, the dancers expose the community to dance and offer entertainment to children and adults alike.

The pieces performed are tailored to the event,  from five-minute choreographic works to short versions of story-ballets. Private performances are offered as well. For more information, please email info@tampacityballet.org.

TCB Dance Master Residencies are customized classes for schools and community programs.
