TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY DANCE REFLECTS OUR TIME AND THE CULTURAL LANDSCAPE IN WHICH WE LIVE. TO PAULA NUNEZ, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF TAMPA CITY BALLET, THIS IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. DANCE SHOULD BE AN ART FORM TO WHICH EVERYONE CAN RELATE.
TRE-S is Tampa City Ballet’s newest work. It is a collaboration with The Contemporary Art Music Project. An interactive experience which will be performed at The Florida Museum of Photography. The audiences will be transported on a journey that merges the relationships and dynamics of dance with the creative exploration of visual artists and musicians..
“Longing,” “Legacy,” and “Freedom” are the three interstices on which TRE-S is based. The work explores the triangular nature of society in its transformations, interventions, and interactions.
